Locked out!
Today was a beautiful day, so about 2:00 we decided to head out and take a walk. Mom pushed Brock in the stroller and Tyler pushed the other little stroller. About halfway around the block Brock started to fuss and Tyler decided he wanted to ride in the stroller instead of push, so Sheree figured out how to push 2 strollers at once. Yep we need a double stroller...any ideas where to get a good one? Then we got to our street again and Tyler got out to run home. Sheree stopped to show the neighbor Brock while Tyler asked for the garage door opener which mom gave him. Tyler proceeded to open the garage and get his bike out and who knows what else. Then Sheree and Brock decided to go in but guess what!? The garage door was open, but the door going into the house was locked! We had no house key, car keys or a cell phone! Just as Sheree was walking out the garage the Hawkers drove by so she flagged them down and used their phone to call Ryan to come save us but guess what!? Ryan didn't have a house key! The only person who did that was close was Sheree's sister Amber who is going to BYU in Provo, which is a good hour away. So Ryan called her and her husband Jake had class in Salt Lake on Tuesday nights so they were getting ready to head up there and then Amber was kind enough to come up and let us in our house! While we waited we had fun hanging out with our favorite neighbors, so thanks John & Sheri! Ryan even left work to pick Riley up from school and to get diapers and wipes cause of course Brock had a poopy diaper! So hos did we get locked out? Well Tyler's new favorite activity is to shut and lock doors so either when we left or while Sheree was talking to the neighbor Tyler chose to lock the door. So we have learned to always take a key! Thanks Tyler for all the excitement today!

1 month!
So Brock is now a month old! In some ways the time has flown by and other ways it has gone super slow! For the most part, I have enjoyed being home with the boys. Tyler has been a challenge though and wants me 90% of the time and it's the worst when I am feeding Brock. Brock is sleepy the most during the evening and then wakes up right when it is time to go to bed. Lately, he has given us about a 5 hour stretch so that has been nice. He does tilt his head to his left, just like Riley did, but now we are more aware of it and are doing the exercises to stretch his neck, so hopefully we won't need physical therapy. The other good thing is that his head shape isn't off like Riley's was so once he can hold his head up, I think we'll be set! At his 2 week appt he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz so not sure what he weighs now, but he is getting bigger!
Riley has been having great days at school in which we are grateful! We were really worried that we were going to have a relapse with his behavior problems when Brock was born, but we have had very little problems. He has loved playing with his neighborhood friends lately now that the days are getting longer and the weather warmer. We are grateful for good neighbor boys that he can play with. He even came home last week and did a page of homework each day without complaining and had it all done before the weekend so we didn't have to worry about it. He sure is growing up and maturing.
We are blessing Brock on March 14 for any who want to come. Church is at 12:30.

More Pictures
So Brock will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and I just wanted to upload some current pictures...surprisingly I didn't have many to choose from...I felt like we were taking a ton of pictures, but we really haven't! We are taking the boys to a professional photographer tomorrow so hopefully we'll get some fun pictures from that! Tyler wants to hold the baby all the time and will beg you to hold the baby and then he only holds him for a few seconds and its time to give him back! Riley will hold Brock every once in awhile but most of the time he will just go and talk to Brock when he is awake so that is fun to see!
Brock has probably been our sleepiest baby but it is mostly during the day. In the evenings he gets a little fussy and wants to eat all the time! Then he usually doesn't go down until 10:30ish and usually will give us about 3 hours between feedings. He really is a good baby and is fun to have in our family! I know that he looks fat in this first picture, but he really isn't, but I am sure he will be 20 pounds by 6 months like his brothers!

Riley got some way cool new church clothes...doesn't he look older than 6!? He wore them to church when Grandma April took him and was very reverent that day!

Tyler has had jealousy issues, which is to be expected. He usually doesn't want mom until she is feeding Brock and then he will hang around and say "hold me momma." So a few days ago mom was trying to take a nap with Tyler but Tyler wanted nothing to do with a nap, but mom really needed some sleep, so she finally shut her door and locked it. Well Tyler kept banging on the door and crying cause he wanted to come in so after about 10 minutes he settled down on the floor outside moms room and took a nap!

And one final picture of the boys hanging out last night watching TV!

It's a Boy!!!
Brock Ryan Christensen was born on Thursday January 14 at 4:29pm. He weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Sheree went to work that morning and then had a doctors appt at 10 in which she was dilated to a 5 so they sent her to the hospital. We arrived at noon and the baby was born at 4:29 so everything went pretty smooth! When comparing baby pictures, Brock looks more like Riley but does have some of the same features as Tyler.
Sheree and Brock made the mistake of coming home Friday night at 9pm and it was a long night for all! The baby is great during the day but at night wants nothing to do with sleep, wants to eat every 2 hours, likes the light on and has to be held! About 3am Grandma April took the baby and Ryan and Sheree got a couple hours of rest and then were up off on and on wiht Brock until 8:30 when everyone else got up. We did get a short nap today and of course he has been a little angel all day today and we'll see how the night goes!
Riley and Tyler have adjusted well and are glad that everyone is home safe and sound!

No baby yet....
We are expecting Baby Brock any day now...Sheree is currently dilated to a 4 and is now 2 weeks away from her due date, so it will be interesting to see when he comes! I will make sure that Ryan knows how to post on the blog so that he can upload a picture and let you know as soon as he comes! Hopefully he'll wait until friday, which is when the semester ends for Sheree, but babies tend to have their own agenda...but we can wait!
As for another item of business...we are currently doing a familly scrapbook called Project Life by Becky Higgins (found at beckyhiggins.com) Last year we did her Project 365 where you take a picture every day for a year and document it with a little journaling card each day. I kept up through March and then got behind, but even though it isn't completely finished, we have all loved to go through it and see what we were up to for last year. So this year we are doing it again! Very simple and easy way to document our life together as a family since I have slacked on the traditional scrapbook end! So I just thought I would put it here in case anyone is interested. The contents look girlish on the picture below but really it's not and way beautiful in real life!

(I copied this picture off her blog which she put there for people to print out if they were giving it as a gift, so sorry but I am not gifting it to anyone!)

Enjoying Christmas Break!
It was a fun Christmas and crazy thinking that it was a week ago!? Here are some pictures of the boys opening up their presents. Riley got a Nintendo DSI and some Wii games. Tyler got a Dump Truck, Toy Story Mania and some legos. We had a blast that day putting stuff together and playing. That night Todd, Brenda and Sloan came over and the kids enjoyed playing RockBand.
