Disneyland!!!
We decided to take a much needed family vacation and venture off to Disneyland. So after everyone got home from work/school on Wednesday afternoon, we headed off on the wonderful drive. We left our house at 5pm and finally made it to Vegas at 1am. Then Thursday drove the rest of the way. Since this was a last minute trip, we weren't able to get in our timeshare and had to settle for a hotel. We did get a kids suite and had a king bed and bunkbeds for the boys and had a great view of the fireworks at night! It was a nice space for the limited amount of time that we spent at Disneyland. We went Thursday-Sunday and it just kept getting busier each day. We didn't get to ride everything and felt like we hung around but the boys loved it and behaved well for the most part. We love Disneyland at Halloween time, especially the Haunted Mansion. Tyler was just barly 40 inches and got to ride the Tower of Terror, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Thunder Mountain Railroad and loved them all! Below are some fun pictures of our time there. We bought season passes and are planning on going again in April, which we can't wait for, and maybe another trip or two throughout the year!

2nd Grade
Here is Riley's 2nd grade picture! He has a great smile...not sure what is up with his hair though! He has really enjoyed school and is now back on track. We are leaving over UEA to go on a much needed vacation and Riley is worried cause he is going to miss school and he doesn't want to! He has enjoyed learning about the constellations and can't wait to go on his field trip to the Clarke Planetarium in November.

Blessings
I should have updated this several weeks ago, but once we are all back to school, life gets super busy!
So Ryan has his job back! The story is pretty interesting...On Monday August 23 Ryan stayed home with Tyler and had a great time with him and was getting a taste of how things were going to be. Then on Tuesday as he was going in to work the boss called him and said we fired the new guy and we need to talk so he went down to North Salt Lake to start the first of many discussions. He called me and we were in shock! The night before we were finally at peace with having him stay home and were liking the idea of collecting unemployment, not paying daycare and having a lot of extra time to hang out as a family. (I know that Ryan was secretly looking forward to afternoon rides when Sheree got home from work!) So the roller coaster emotional ride was starting all over again...our biggest worry:what do we do with the kids since they can no longer go to my schools daycare. On Friday of that week Ryan and his boss came to terms on a new salary, work hours (which still allowed Ryan to take Riley to school!), and all of that good stuff. Ryan now has to commute to North Salt Lake instead of Fruit Heights, and he doesn't get home until 6:30 or so, so we are trying to adjust. We feel blessed and have wondered why all this happened. We did learn to scale back our spending and save more and realize that we are really close to living on just one income. This is the last year that Sheree has to work for the state paying for her Masters degree, so maybe when the next baby comes she can stay home...that won't be for a few more years though! :)
Riley has been off track for the past 2 weeks and has had an okay time. I know that he was looking forward to staying home with Dad and for once he can't wait to go back on track! He loves to read and is reading all the time and loves to play Wizards 101 on the computer and Webkinz. He hasn't been playing regular video games very much anymore which is surprising but good. He is looking forward to playing Basketball for the first time in November.
Tyler is adjusting to his new daycare. He goes to the same place Riley and Brock go to, but he misses his 2 really good friends from moms school. He is really talking and learning to play better with the neighborhood boys. He'd be outside all the time if he could. He just got a new little razor scooter that he loves and still wants to do everything that Riley does! His potty training is coming along nicely...not too many accidents anymore and we're hoping to transition to underwear full time soon.
Brock is crawling all over the place now and he loves it! He loves to go in his room and Riley's room and just see what toys he can find and there are plenty to choose from! He and Sheree have a nasty cold right now that they are hoping goes away soon. He sure is a happy baby! He loves the kitty and being outside. We're hoping he crawls for awhile and doesn't want to walk at 10 months like his brothers! No teeth yet and still not sleeping through the night. He's now 8 months and weighs 20 pounds!
Ryan is off riding his mountain bike as I write this...something he looks forward to every weekend if he gets the chance. Work has kept him busy and all the things to do around the house. We're thinking about finally pouring the cement next to our driveway in front of the fence to have more parking and more room for Riley to play basketball. Our neighbors keep telling us that they'll have their boys help prep it and help us get it ready, so I think they're sick of looking at dirt the whole time, but hey it was once grass! If we can get a good deal, we might as well just do it. We're also hoping to start framing a room in the basement for Riley so that all 3 boys can have their own rooms. We have no idea where to begin, so not sure when that project will actually get started.
Sheree is back to teaching and now has that added stress. Midterms are Monday and parent teacher conferences the following week, which she dreads every year. Her class sizes are huge...36 in each of her 4 Geometry classes but her Algebra are around 25 each. Teaching is still fun but it's a lot harder with 3 boys at home. She also applied to help re-write the Algebra online curriculum and got that job to do at nights. She only applied because Ryan had lost his job and knew that this would help, but now it's too much stress and time! Is life ever not stressful though? She's also been playing ward volleyball on Thursdays and the boys enjoy playing with other kids at the church too.
We do feel blessed as a family and are glad we get to venture through this life with each other!

Life Sucks!
I know many people don't like that word, but I don't care and when life is really crappy, that is the word that I chose to use! Besides I would rather have my kids use that word than a swear word which thankfully they have yet to use!
So just when things are going good again...Riley has not had one issue in 2nd grade which is a miracle...Tyler was finally going poop in the potty and almost fully potty trained...Brock had some full nights of sleep...Sheree was getting ready to head back to work again, which she wasn't looking forward to...Ryan had a meeting with his boss that didn't go well.
Monday we found out that Ryan had a job until Aug. 31 and that if he could stick it out until the end of the month and train the new guy who's a CPA then he could have 2weeks severance. So that is what Ryan is doing. Monday was a tough day...cancelled daycare for all 3 boys which was okay (our only worry is whether we can get them back in when Ryan finds another job, but I will worry about that when it happens!), went through our budget and got rid of the nonessentials (it's amazing what you can give up when you have to!), looked into what we do for unemployment and realized that not paying for daycare and getting unemployment for 6 months, we're going to be okay! So we were at peace with things. However, it's been a roller coaster ride. We are thankful that Sheree has her teaching job with the benefits and it's been amazing at the connections we have with people who are connected in the Accounting business. Ryan has been on the computer every night applying for jobs, putting his resume on Monster.com and really trying to make things work. I kind of like the idea of having him stay at home for a little while but would love for a job to come through sooner than later! We also have to decide if maybe now is the time for him to go get his Masters in Accounting or an MBA. Lots of decisions to make.
Things will be okay. Yesterday I made a list of some of the things that could be worse. Yes, this sucks big time but there could be worse things. For example, when I had a crying fit on Monday, Tyler goes, "Did my dad die?" Where did that come from!? S0 yes there could be worse things! I was really nervous putting Tyler back in my schools daycare and maybe this is an answer to my prayers to keep him home. If mom can't stay home, then I guess dad can! And thank goodness we're not pregnant!
We have amazing people in the Ward that have offered to watch the kids until Ryan is done. Both of us have amazing parents who have offered help financially if we need it. My mom even said she'd help with daycare when Ryan found another job! So many people who are being selfless and willing to help us in our time of need. I just have to be thankful for the blessings that we do have...a healthy family, one job with benefits, a wonderful house, 2 good working cars, money to cover our needs, a 7-year old who is doing wonderfully in school, etc.

Why boys need parents!
I found this on a friends blog and thought I would repost here, since I am the mother of only boys and so are all my siblings! Yep, between me and my 2 brothers and 2 sisters, we have 11 boys and no girls! The oldest is 8 and the youngest 3 months...pretty crazy! Hope it gives you a laugh anyway!
1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.
2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words 'uh oh', it's already too late.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36- year old man says he can only do it in the movies.
10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.
11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.
12.) Super glue is forever.
13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
15.) VCR's do not eject 'PB & J' sandwiches even though TV
commercials show they do.
16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.
19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on;
plastic toys do not like ovens.
20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

earthworms dizzy.
